National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships within neighborhoods across the nation. This event encourages residents to get out in the community, meet neighbors, and partner with police.

Minnetrista and St. Bonifacius currently have around 20 block parties every year.  Minnetrista Police, St. Bonifacius Fire, Mound Fire and McGruff visit many of the parties each year.  The Crime Prevention Fund also provides banners and giveways for the parties.  If your neighborhood does not have a party and you would like to start one, a block captain will need to be assigned and that person will be the contact with the Police Department.  National Night Out planning begins at the end of May or early June.  Police and Fire assignments are set in place by mid July.  To get added to our party list, please email the Police Department with the block captain information for your neighborhood before May.
