The Public Works Department includes Engineering, Natural and Water Resources, Park Maintenance, Street Maintenance, Utility Maintenance, and Parks and Recreation divisions. These divisions are responsible for operating and maintaining City infrastructure and providing other services to the community. The infrastructure includes streets, parks, trails, sidewalks, potable water supply, treatment and distribution, sanitary sewer collection, storm water treatment and conveyance, and public natural areas. Services include recreation, engineering, street sweeping, snow and ice control, fleet maintenance, etc.
The Public Works Department is responsible for the City's infrastructure which includes:
- 20 lift stations
- 38 miles of sewer pipe (approx.)
- Two flow stations
- Three water towers
- Seven wells with 28.33 miles of water pipe
- Play equipment in 9 of 14 city owned parks
- Two boat ramps
- One fishing pier
- 19 miles of gravel (approx.)
- 52 miles of paved roads (approx.)
- 90 miles of ditches
- All city-owned vehicles, equipment and facilities
The City of Minnetrista has completed and submitted our service line materials inventory to the Minnesota Department of Health. The service line inventory is publicly available, and you can check the materials for your service line by visiting the Lead Inventory Tracking Tool (LITT) at https://maps.umn.edu/LSL/ you may also contact us at 952-446-1660. To complete the service line inventory our system reviewed all property files, and water connection record cards were examined for connection date, water service line size, and type of material installed. As of August 7, 2024, our inventory contains 0 lead, 0 galvanized requiring replacement, 0 unknown material, and 2162 non-lead service lines.
